Skincare and Makeup and Target, Oh My!

I finally took the plunge this morning and threw out all of my old beauty products I was holding on to.  I have always love love loved beauty and skincare products, and I’ve always been trying to find that secret combination s to make my skin look flawless.  In doing so, I didn’t realize that a lot of the products I was using were doing more harm to my skin and body than they were doing good.  Sure, I did see some acne begin to clear up, and my skin did look refreshed when I woke up when I used certain products, but after finding out that there hasn’t been a major law passed to regulate the beauty industry since 1938, and the things I was putting on my face and body could lead to cancer, hormone disruption, and reproductive issues, I decided I needed to make a change.

Goodbye to the junk!

My friend introduced me to Beautycounter and even before I tried one single product, I fell in love.  I fell in love with the mission.  Beautycounter wants to get safer skincare into the hands of everyone. They are creating safer products through strict screening processes and very high ingredient standards. They even have a list of 1,500 ingredients they will NEVER put in their products.  These ingredients are found in most of the stuff you unknowingly use every day (fragrance, formaldehyde, parabens, triclosan and triclocarban, etc).

Once I tried the Beautycounter products, I realized that not only were they safe, but they were as effective (and some of them even more effective) than the high end products I had been using in the past.  Safe + Effective?!?!  Yes, please!  I’ve been slowly transitioning all of my skincare, body care, and makeup products through the past few months along with the bath products my kids use. ( Did you know that many kids products that claim they are “tear free” actually have a numbing agent in them?)  I finally threw away all of the other stuff I was holding on to, and my new clean and effective skincare regime is all set up.

If you are interested in cleaning up your and your family’s skincare routine, now is the perfect time to try out the Beautycounter line.  Starting on September 12, Target has partnered with Beautycounter for a limited time designer collaboration!

What Is This Collaboration?:

For a limited time only, a curated collection of some of Beautycounter’s most coveted products will be in Target! It’s an amazing partnership to get their mission into the hands of thousands of women. Just as the founder and CEO said in this great VIDEO HERE, Beautycounter is MUCH MORE than a brand. It is a movement and a mission to educate women about the ingredients that they are putting on their skin every day. The partnership with Target provides the Target customer with some of the Beautycounter products at a different price-point. They are smaller bottles, but the same product and ingredient line. They are perfect to introduce yourself to the products, use for travel, or gifting!

Beautycounter for Target products!

Some of my favorites:

Charcoal Bar: It cleans out your pores like nothing I’ve used before. I use it 3-4 times a week. You can read more about the benefits of activated charcoal HERE.

Makeup: I use the Tint Skin, Concealer Pen, Powder, Mascara (just won a 2016 Allure Best of Beauty Award), Color Pinch Blush, and Lip Sheer on a daily basis.

Moisturizers: The Rejuvenating Night Cream is my favorite of all products!  It leaves your face feeling very hydrated, smooth, and bright.  I use the Rejuvenating Day Cream in the morning as a nice light moisturizer with added brightening benefits.

Balancing Face Oil:  A super cool and innovative way to moisturize skin and boost radiance.  The face oil is easily absorbed, contains ylang ylang and wild chamomile, and provides balance to combination skin.

Brushes: Their brushes are, by far, much better than the best makeup brushes in a department store…at least this is my personal experience. The price point is much more friendly, too!
